Course:
American History at Waynesville High School will cover U.S. History and its interactions with other countries of the world from Reconstruction (late 1800s) to present time. The course is designed to help prepare students for the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT) and will, therefore, use the Ohio Academic Content Standards as a part of its curriculum. Some of the major concepts and ideas that will be covered include: Reconstruction, Industrialization, Imperialism, 20th Century Conflict, and the Political, Social, and Economic developments of the 20th Century. Some of the basic concepts of Economics, Geography, and Government will also be introduced.
